Here’s a surprising bit of news out of the world of geek… Tech blogger DKB reckons that Google search has lost its stranglehold on internet searches. Programmer and blogger Mike Solana seems to agree. Prompted by overreactions to “misinformation” and unrest of the masses, he wrote a recent Substack about the unholy trinity of politics, media and Big Tech.
Solana sees the efforts of this conglomerate to galvanize a societal “monoculture” as a panic— their monopoly is under attack. He writes to his audience, “The things you’re building are working,” and then he urges them to keep going. The drawbacks of decentralized and private technologies he believes are far preferable to a Chinese-style social credit system, which is what the powers that be seem to want.
