The progressive left is still trying to work out how they lost so much of America.
Let me count the ways.
Last week’s prevailing headlines really should clue them in but it’s not clear that they are listening. Over at MSNBC, Jen Psaki worried that Democrats might come to the “wrong conclusions” when it comes to “transgender rights”. Psaki went on to say that Republicans have “manufactured panic” over boys competing against girls, warning her viewers not to fall for “right-wing propaganda” since the amount of individuals in question is incredibly small. So, no biggie, right?
Democratic House Rep. Seth Moulton does not agree. Representative Moulton came under fire from radicals in his own party for saying he didn’t really want his daughters playing against boys. He said it was high time for Democrats to debate these matters. For that, he was likened to a Nazi collaborator.
Contrary to what a lot of Dems say, a number of polls reported that the overreach of the transgender agenda was one of the top issues on voter’s minds. The clash it creates when it comes to girls’ sports, women’s prisons and bathrooms and also parental rights is something a lot of Americans are aware of. A new poll has found that the vast majority of Americans oppose gender procedures for children.
The question of what makes a woman even landed at the Capitol last week. A newly-elected Democrat from Delaware is a transvestite who goes by the name Sarah McBride. Republican Rep. Nancy Mace urged the House to sign a bill that would restrict women’s bathrooms for the use of actual women. Speaker Johnson offered a lukewarm response but after some talking to, by the afternoon, he was quite a bit clearer. “For anyone who doesn’t know my established record on this issue, let me be unequivocally clear: a man is a man, and a woman is a woman, and a man cannot become a woman,” he said. McBride has agreed to use the men’s room saying he didn’t run for office on his identity.
So, this may be a make or break issue when it comes to the trenches of the culture wars. We may wish the fight for life were so passionately seized by more lawmakers, but still, this is not one Christians should shrug off. Especially when it seems that reality has the lie on the ropes, as conservatives are emboldened to speak clearly. Now is a good time to be punching back.
