President Biden has unveiled a new “large-scale immigration program that will offer legal status and a streamlined path to U.S. residency and citizenship” for illegal aliens. Spouses and children of American citizens who have lived in the States for more than a decade and have no criminal record can apply for work permits and deportation protections under the new policy. The ruling could apply to as many as 1 million people living illegally in America.
The news comes as fresh reports of despicable crimes committed by illegal immigrants are circulating widely online. A few New York residents have nabbed and beat an Ecuadorean man who raped a young girl in a park. The man had a rap sheet and a deportation order against him in 2022 but it was never enforced. In Texas, two Venezuelan men have been charged with raping and killing a twelve year-old girl.
While Democrats and corporate media derided such reports as right-wing “fear mongering”, systems to keep criminals and terrorists out of America are not being enforced or perhaps, actively undermined. That cruel and murderous men slip into America unchallenged is not especially new, but broad decrees are bound to provide cover for bad guys. According to a new report, 80,000 aliens brought to America through President Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) executive order in 2012 had criminal records, some for violent crimes.
For their part, Democrats seem to have little interest in throwing anyone out of the country. Pew reported a few years ago that the majority of illegal immigrants live in a handful of metro areas and you can probably guess which ones. A number of blue cities already allow aliens to participate in municipal elections, so the idea that they would like illegal immigrants (who are largely dependent on government programs) to vote in state and federal elections is not an outlandish one. Certainly, efforts to require even minimal identification when voting has been met with hostility from Democrats.
President Biden paints his new policy as the compassionate thing to do – why shouldn’t everyone have a shot at the American dream? Well, it depends who you ask. The parents whose children’s lives have been taken away by someone who jumped the fence may think a little differently about the President’s approach. Much of the country – especially Hispanic voters, according to Newsweek – is favorable to shutting down the southern border and deportations. In the end, this policy rewards people for entering illegally and punishes those who abide by the law.
