The show must go on
Vice President Kamala Harris is now the presumptive presidential nominee for the Democrat Party. A media blitz to reform her image ensued with President Biden’s announcement that he was pushed out stepping aside. Her penchant for purple prose and her unlikeable public image were switched out for descriptors such as “brat” and “wine aunt”. Not really who you want leading the free world but it seems exactly the kind of person who would rise to the top in our matrilineal moment. It’s likely that the wall-to-wall promotion will continue in the short time left until November.
Corporate media were quick to delete the fact that V.P. Harris was once voted the “most liberal senator”, denied that she raised money to bail out violent B.L.M protestors when she was prosecutor or that she was tasked with overseeing the border during her time as Vice President (there’s no such position as “border czar”, silly rabbit!) She was once a “drag” on the ticket, but no more. And if you believe V.P. Harris was hired in part because she is a woman and black, you’re just racist and sexist. (Even though President Biden said he was intentionally picking a woman for his running mate – likely from binders full of qualified women, right?)
She appears to support all the things – abortion, removing the filibuster, no borders, no guns, court packing, Green New everything; no meat, no flights and all the rest. Needless to say, her record speaks for itself. As Donald Trump has said, Biden is a fake Lefty, but Harris is the real deal.
V.P Harris was famously introduced to Californian politics by her well-connnected boyfriend and was given perks and cushy positions, Hunter Biden-style. She hasn’t really had to run against anyone on the Right but she is the personification of the most progressive Democrat agendas. Journalist Michael Shellenberger says her ability to conform to whatever is in the wind means she is useful for achieving the desire of keeping Donald Trump out of the White House. However, as Dr Phil warns cheating spouses: if they do it with you, they will do it to you. Having arranged a soft coup to oust an unpopular president in order to install V.P. Harris, there is no reason that the political machinery will not also do the same to her, should the need arise. It was not so long ago that the Democrat machine steamrolled right over presumed candidate, Bernie Sanders, to nominate the more “moderate” Scranton Joe Biden.
One commentator said “we drastically underestimate how fake and stage-managed US politics really is” and that is worth considering as we approach this short runway to the election. The stage is set but there will be plot twists yet to come. The drama is fake, but it doesn’t mean there is no power on the part of the players. It is a show, but not everyone is a puppet. Jesus still has good men in the city who have not bowed their knee to the spirit of the age. All this, Jesus knows, as Rev Fisk often says. We must seek the good of our city while we sojourn in this place, assured that nothing gets past God’s notice nor is anything outside his reach. So get wisdom, speak boldly and pray for America.
