The President's decline is causing headaches
Since President Biden’s shaky debate performance, it would seem the media has turned on him, actually grilling press secretary, Jean Karine-Pierre for once. The press corp asked KJP why a Parkinson’s disease expert is logged as visiting the White House several times in the last year. Former New York Times journalist Alex Berenson uncovered the visits but claims the Times stole his scoop. A guest neurologist on NBC said the President’s physical presentation and manner of speech has hallmarks of neurodegeneration. “I could diagnose him from across the mall.” (Alex Berenson via X, NBC)
Even Axios seemed unconvinced by the White House’s reasons for why staff provided large photographs instructing the President how to walk to a podium at a recent public event. (Axios)
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer has said he will subpoena Biden’s physicians if the White House is not forthcoming with information about the state of the Presiden't’s cognitive capabilities. (Just the News)
Reports have started to emerge from officials’ anecdotal accounts of President’s state during visits to Europe. German officials noted he was early to bed and once was a no show due to fatigue. (Red State).
There have been more calls for the President to step aside. George Clooney (who did play a doctor on TV) said his recent fundraiser with the President confirmed to him that Biden should step aside. MSNBC’s Chuck Todd was also clearly having some sort of epiphany saying that he had to “rethink a lot of the Biden biography. I still can’t believe he ran for president in the first place, given that his family was in crisis in 2018…And now, looking at his behavior now, in clinging to this, I think the entire narrative on Joe Biden is gonna change, in that everything’s always been about his ambition and his ambition comes first.” Perhaps, Scranton Joe was always a myth? Some Democrat lawmakers have also suggested it might be time for Joe to go, but there has been no clear direction from Democrat leaders. There is disagreement about whether a new candidate would be more likely to win against Donald Trump. Liberal journalist Ezra Klein concluded that if the Democrats really believed that Donald Trump is the threat to democracy that they constantly make him out to be, then they would swap Biden out.
