Satan, the father of lies, works relentlessly to destroy God’s created order, particularly His gifts of life and family. Doing his work are deceived men and women who sow seeds of confusion and chaos throughout academia, media, healthcare, and even many churches. Populations now affirm and celebrate despicable behaviors that ultimately lead to pain, sterility, and death. What tactics and tools have they used to so effectively convert minds that they call evil good and good evil? The Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Health Equality Index is one such tool that appears to be quite effective in doing the devil’s work.
The Health Equality Index The Human Rights Campaign Foundation (HRC) is a well-funded advocacy group whose stated goal is to “change the institutions of daily life for LGBTQ+ people.” The HRC promotes “gender-affirming approach to children who are gender-expansive or transgender,” and recommends all medical and social interventions that facilitate transition. They make many false claims, such as asserting that puberty blockers are fully reversible and “transgender adults and adolescents rarely regret gender transition.” For 15 years, hospitals and healthcare facilities have participated in HRC’s Health Equality Index (HEI) hoping to earn the designation of “LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality Leader.” The HRC boasts, “In unprecedented numbers, they are changing key policies, implementing best practices, and training their staff.” The numbers are indeed high. 906 healthcare facilities throughout the nation participated in the 2022 survey, with 496 participants earning the top award, 30 of which were pediatric hospitals. The HRC also researched the policies of 1,300 non-participating hospitals.
The HEI Scoring Criteria The HEI Scoring Criteria list conditions that the hospital must meet to earn points, with the goal of earning 100 points. The healthcare facility can also lose points through deductions. The impact that each HEI requirement has on healthcare, as well as the greater society’s perception of good and evil, deserves our attention and evaluation. However, for the sake of brevity, I will only examine a select few. Staff Training For new applicants, “Key Senior executives must complete the LGBTQ Patient Centered Care: An Executive Briefing training provided by the HEI.” This training includes “strategies for delivering accessible and affirming healthcare” and teaches them to “recognize the differences between sex assigned at birth, gender identity, gender expression and sexual orientation.” This means that all of the directors and managers within the 906 participating healthcare facilities underwent almost 3 hours of indoctrination by HRC, which promotes evil ideologies and lies. What does this tell us about the quality of the leaders within such institutions that imbibe the propaganda without protest? Whether they complied obediently or agreed with the content, these managers and directors have accepted the belief system they must operate under and pass down to their subordinates. Returning applicants to the HEI must prove that their staff completed a number of training hours. They must visibly promote other HRC training modules to the staff (Center for Affiliated Learning and The National LGBTQIA+ Health Education Center) or provide other LGBTQ training approved by the HRC. Such trainings establish the accepted ideologies related to all things LGBTQ within the hospital. Staff can dissent at their own professional risk.
Patient Services and Support The participating hospitals can then select from about half of so-called “best practices” under the remaining three criteria. The following concerning practices are listed under “Patient Services and Support”: “Facility has a written plan strategy or plan for reducing health disparities specifically among LGBTQ+ patients…” This is an impossible goal. There will always be disparities between patients who seek to alter their body in attempts to become the opposite sex and patients who are content in their God given body. Men who have sex with multiple male partners have a much greater risk of disease than the married heterosexual couple committed to one another. Those who live outside of God’s design will suffer harm, and no matter how compassionate or pro-active healthcare providers are in trying to alleviate the suffering of “LGBTQ” individuals, they do not have the power to overcome nature. “Facility offers certain transgender-specific clinical services,” endorses “externally promoted multidisciplinary gender clinic,” and/or has a transgender patient navigation/advocacy program. A healthcare facility that offers or promotes “transgender” services is promoting and inflicting disease, not health. The HEI contains an extensive list of expectations regarding patient identification and data collection. On the electronic health record (EHR), the HEI suggests hospitals “offer explicit options to capture patient’s current gender identity—when it differs from the patient’s sex assigned at birth.” Staff must be trained to ask for both pieces of information and record their preferred pronouns and preferred name (which may differ from their legal name). While it is ridiculous to request this information from every patient seeking care, this is especially confusing to children. Most children are not naturally confused about their gender and should not be told that they can choose their identity. Patient and Community Engagement The HEI expects hospitals to “support one or more LGBTQ+ related events or initiatives in the facility’s service area.” Demonstrating their celebration of LGBTQ+ people through marketing, political engagement, and community outreach also buys the hospital points. Why must hospitals’ resources be drawn to activities outside of providing quality patient care? Why must hospitals feel like they have to celebrate any group of people, let alone the LGBTQ+ “community?” Why must health care providers promote behaviors and lifestyles that lead to poor physical and mental health? Deductions Hospitals can lose points. A deduction can occur if hospitals discriminate against transgender patients by not offering a medical procedure for the purpose of transitioning that they would otherwise provide for patients who need that intervention to treat disease. Funding Many large corporations contribute to the HRC. However, the HEI received a special “generous grant” from two entities that benefit from the increase of disease: Pfizer and PHRMA.

The Human Rights Campaign’s Health Equality Index is truly doing the work of Satan in the world of healthcare, effectively deceiving people and inflicting sorrow and disease. Their power seems overwhelming and insurmountable. But God is not overwhelmed. He sees their deception, and He sees the pain they have inflicted. Psalm 5 is a very fitting prayer for His people to pray in response to Satan’s work:

8 Lead me, O LORD, in your righteousness
because of my enemies;
make your way straight before me.
9 For there is no truth in their mouth;
their inmost self is destruction;
their throat is an open grave;
they flatter with their tongue.
10 Make them bear their guilt, O God;
let them fall by their own counsels;
because of the abundance of their transgressions cast them out,
for they have rebelled against you.
11 But let all who take refuge in you rejoice;
let them ever sing for joy,
and spread your protection over them,
that those who love your name may exult in you.
12 For you bless the righteous, O LORD;
you cover him with favor as with a shield.
