The primary point is that you are not even a primary point. You are one of countless beautiful, inexplicable, sometimes terrible, glorious human beings that the Almighty Creator designed as a miraculous infusion of matter and life. Your fate, your choice, your path is to embrace the road that rises up for you, no matter the thorns, the bad forks and the dead ends. There are walls, and lines in the sand, and traps too. The world of “Not this! Not that!” The world of scarcity and fear. The world of assumptions you got from someone else, habits instilled to isolate you, programming designed to shove you in a corner so terrified of whatever it is that the only way you can feel safe is to hide, way down in that hole, ultimately and finally all alone. As long as you are with others, you are not alone. In the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, ״do unto others” is the enlightening revelation that we are better with each other than without. Even in a room full of total strangers, kindness is just a smile and a nod away. The path to human civilization, and therefore to peace for every man, is built not on rules enforced with a stick, but of a certain, and a better kind of, Spirit. The Spirit of Jesus is not ashamed to boast of the evidence of God. God’s goodness is not a zero sum game. He starts and ends with positive creative intentions towards YOU. Jesus, your Savior, is in heaven, now, but he has left YOU here as a member of his body. The Holy Spirit thinks you’re good enough to live inside of. He knows that you have what it takes to press forward. Because that is HIS promise. He knows what you need most. Better than you, even. It all gets much better when we just start trusting him. No more games. No more escapes. No more dreaming and pleading and self-victimizing the stories. Jesus loves your life. Yes, without question, Jesus loves your life even much more than you do. You are not center of the world. You are not the point of the universe. But you are a child of the Living God. You don’t have to be at the center of everything to make a difference to the world that is all around you right now. Goodness is made to go out. Love is made to be shared. The more that you seek to take, the more you will see taken from you. When it all, and all of it, is an everlasting Given, that is when the game doesn’t just change: it’s a new Day altogether. Bad times will come. That’s what they do. But bad times come, and bad times go. Good is always here to stay.
